I was awarded my Ph.D. in social/personality psychology from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. I joined Trent University Durham in 2010 as an Assistant Professor, and as of January 2016, I am a faculty member at Lakehead University's Orillia campus.

My research interests are in personality and individual differences, and particularly the "dark" personalities: psychopathy, narcissism, Machiavellianism, and everyday sadism. My current research program is focused around psychopathic traits (tendencies to be manipulative, callous, irresponsible, and lacking in empathy), personality, and other individual difference variables. I have talented student researchers collaborating with me on projects related to psychopathy, dark personalities, deception, and self-sexualizing behavior.
